Málaga

I would highly recommend visiting the coastal city of Málaga, which is around two hours and a half hours away from Sevilla by car. A bus ticket is very affordable for around twenty euros round trip, with multiple buses leaving throughout the day.

One of the main things that Málaga is known for is their beaches. Due to a shallow bay, the water is both clear and warm. Since we went during late February, the beach season was not in full swing and tourism was relatively low. During the summer, Málaga is incredibly popular, especially as a location for water

sports such as windsurfing.

Málaga is also famous for their museums, landmarks, and artistic history. Pablo Picasso was born in Málaga and subsequently has his own museum downtown. We visited the Centro de Arte Contemporada, a museum featuring rotating modern art – I would recommend going on Sunday for free admission! Pictured below is the current exhibition artist, Carlos León.

Of course, there is so much more to explore in a city than what can be accomplished in one weekend. These were some highlights from my experience, and I hope to eventually return and discover more of what Málaga has to offer.
